HCI is Serving to bring the good news and create sustainable development for widows and orphans. Widows and orphans are among the most vulnerable groups in the world. In many communities, they are shunned and often face stigma, prejudice, and discrimination.
They are often unable to provide themselves with adequate food, shelter, or clothing and frequently resort to begging for a living. Our team of volunteers in Burkina Faso envision programs to focus on helping these specific groups of people through microfinance lending, community development, good governance initiatives, women's empowerment training, and literacy work. Microfinance lending provides loans to entrepreneurs who need capital to grow their businesses.
Community development initiatives help people with education and healthcare. Women's empowerment training provides women with opportunities for leadership roles in the future. Literacy work helps women learn to read and write.
