The founding director
Dr. Komi Aholou is the Founder, CEO, and International Director of Hope Commission International. Komi was born in the village of Ahepe in the tiny West African nation of Togo and is the eldest of thirteen children. His family religion was Animism (a traditional African religion centered on ancestor worship and incorporating Voodoo elements). At age 12, Komi heard and believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today Komi is respected as a seasoned, well-traveled, and effective missiologist and Christian leader. He delights in training and equipping church and community leaders in various countries. And, of course, he loves allowing others to participate in creative evangelism and discipleship through Hope Commission International, which he founded in 2005 after 16 years of missionary service under YWAM.
Komi earned a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Leadership, Masters of Science in Organizational leadership and Management, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
Komi is married to Tiffiany Aholou, Ph.D., who plays an essential role in HCI, participating as time permits as a volunteer team member and an adviser and consultant to Komi.
